A couple of weekends ago, we had the chance to shoot Tasha and Keir’s wedding. In a word… fun! They laughed all day long! I was friends with Tasha back in high school, but sort of lost contact as time passed. Thanks to the magical world of facebook we were able to catch up, and I was honoured when she asked Duane and I to shoot her wedding in the Elk Valley.

Can you tell that these guys were excited to be married?

So when it comes to weather, there are no guarantees, especially in the Elk Valley! On this particular day there was snow in the air while we did the family portrait session! I felt really badly for the girls especially, but nobody complained at all!

The ring bearer had some mad break-dancing skills, and was only too-eager to demonstrate! He had the entire wedding party in stitches as he showed his stuff.

I love train tracks!

Right before they went to the reception, Tasha had the wedding party hop out for some pictures at Fernie’s city hall. As soon as she got out however the first thing that she did was start throwing leaves! Mayhem and chaos for the next five minutes, but hey – what’s the point of getting married in the fall if you can’t have some fun with it right?

In what had to be one of the funniest moments I have ever witnessed at a wedding, Tasha’s uncles made Keir pledge allegiance to ‘the Rock’. He is now proudly connected to Newfoundland and all that it entails. Which in this case included kissing some very raw fish! The best part was the accordion – the ‘ceremony’ couldn’t proceed until it arrived!

Thanks again guys for making us a part of your day! We had a blast!
