Banff. A few clouds in the sky. Slightly above freezing temperatures. One hot couple. What more could you ask for?
To be completely honest, our day started out a little sketchy on our drive from Airdrie where we could see the reflections of the signs we were passing IN the road. Thankfully that didn’t last too long and by the time we were in Banff and ready to shoot Andrea & Derek’s wedding the sky had mostly cleared, the sun came out, and we had fantastic conditions to shoot in.
A few of the getting ready details…

Their ring-bearer, Briar, was a good sport. Probably the most well-behaved of any ring-bearer at a wedding I’ve ever been to!

Yeah, that’s right, he’s wearing a tux too! The things you can find online these days!

Ok, so I lied a little before. It was above freezing…just a little later in the day. The ceremony was cold but I don’t think Andrea & Derek even noticed.

Not a bad view for a wedding! It was on the deck of The Juniper and fits a ceremony like this perfectly.

Derek has the greatest smile when he laughs and he laughs a lot!

When we went out for their formals after the reception we wanted to go to a nice, serene area where they’d be surrounded by the beauty of the Rockies…

Derek just wanted to play.

I thought I was going to lose my leg as he went by…he had about 4 inches to spare! Andrea and Briar just stood by while Derek got the itch to play out of his system!

Turns out this was Andrea’s first ride on the dirt bike ever. I think she liked it! Derek made some comment about this being the best day of his life because he got married, had clear skies, got to go dirt biking, AND had his wife riding on the back…

Eventually we managed to pry him off the bike.

These next two I switched the order that they were taken in. The one below is Derek’s reaction to what Andrea did in the first picture.

And to finish it off, a few more of our favourites…
