One of the things that Duane and I love about being wedding photographers is that it allows us to travel to different locations and explore new venues and locations. We have done 5 weddings so far this year and all five have been in completely unique locations! By the end of the summer we will have shot in over 14 different cities. We really feel that shooting in all of these locations really helps us to stay fresh in our art. It’s also fun to explore a new city without knowing it all that well. We deliberately stayed away from scouting other Edmonton photographer’s blogs and websites so that we wouldn’t be influenced by their take on things.
Matt and Brandi were among the first to book with us for this summer and we’ve had been eagerly anticipating their wedding. We did their engagement session back in the fall, so we knew that they were more than capable of pulling off some pretty stunning looks. If all of our weddings this summer are as comfortable feeling and relaxed as this one, then we will be golden!
So here’s to the first wedding of the summer, fantastic weather and a great couple. Here are some of our favorites:

The groomsmen were clowning it up all day long, and were eager to help when Duane suggested that Matt needed some extra attention.

Hard to go wrong with a classic Chevy SS Nova!

We went and checked out the Provincial Legislature for a while. Absolutely love the architecture and lines that can be found there!

Time for a recharge before heading to the reception.

Big props to the DJ – Nathan Leslie of Soundman Inc out of Red Deer. He was absolutely the best that we’ve seen so far at getting people up and dancing, and keeping them out on the dance floor! I would have absolutely no reservations in recommending him to anyone and he’s willing to travel. So if you need a DJ make sure that you give him a ring!

Had to include this one – I was truly impressed with how far above the competition she got!
