Score one for another reconnection thanks to photography! I love it when people who have been part of my life in the past get ahold of us to do a photo session with them. Like myself, Jen is a former Elk Valley kid so when she got some vacation time to come home with her fiance, she sent me a message to see if we could come down to get some pictures of them. I love shooting in Fernie, just because there is such a range of backdrops to choose from. Everytime I think that we might have tapped it out for new locations we stumble across something else. This time we stayed away from the architecture of the town proper and ventured out a little ways south and finished up at the Island Lake resort. They had their snow cats parked out in the front and it made me want to go skiing really badly for a few minutes there.

At one of the first locations we asked Jen and Jon to go into a field without realizing the true depth of the grass! Oops. Fortunately they managed to stay away from the man eating thistles.

But don’t worry we have a strict code: If we make our clients suffer for an image then we are right there beside them!

Another example of suffering I guess! For those of you who know the Elk Valley, you know that the Elk River is never a warm proposition…

Then it was off to Island Lake for a few shots. Its been years since I’ve been up there and I had forgotten how beautiful it is!
