My folks are in town so instead of staying in Calgary we decided to take them out to the mountains for a weekend. After much deliberation we headed out to Kimberly to stay at a friend’s condo and made a few day trips so they could see the area a little. Saturday we all piled into the van and went to Fort Steele. It’s a historic village that was put in place during the Gold Rush in south-eastern BC in the late 1800s. If you’ve ever been to Heritage Park here in Calgary you’ve had a similar experience to Fort Steele.
I’ll be completely honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect at Fort Steele and I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to enjoy it. I brought along the camera and actually had a pretty good time snapping pictures. There were lots of great lines, neat textures, and the weather was perfect and gave us a nice blue sky!
This one would have to be one of my favourite shots of the day.

This stove was imported all the way from London, ON.

Appealing to my love of symmetry!
