Well it didn’t take long for reality to set back in. The weather this past weekend in Vancouver was a bit interesting to say the least, which was not totally unexpected, especially for this time of year. Actually as we were driving over the Coquihalla highway (they just took down the toll booth – apparently they finally paid for the highway!) on Sunday it was a full on snow storm at the top. It made me want to go skiing. A huge thanks to Kristi Sneddon, a Calgary photographer who made the move from Vancouver recently. She told us about some spots that we might want to check out for inclement weather!
The wedding itself was great! Being around the old high-school crowd was a blast – its amazing how ten years can change so much and yet so little all at the same time. It really felt like nothing had changed at all and Rebecca definitely hasn’t changed! It’s been a few years since I had last seen her, (except for a very quick e-session back in May) but the mannerisms and expressions were all the same. It was too funny, and very comforting all at the same time.
Mike is an ambulance attendant in Vancouver and wore his uniform. Very cool.

Heading to the church.

They held the ceremony at the beautiful Canadian Memorial United Church and Centre for Peace.

The guys had some time to relax when they got to the church. Mike waiting for his bride…

Hello, vintage ambulance!

It was so windy here! At one point Rebecca’s dress started to act like a giant sail – I think everyone had momentary doubts about her ability to stay on her feet!

We headed down to Granville island to try to find some cover from the wind and the rain! I love how these next two turned out…

And then we stole the couple away for a little bit to get some shots in Gastown.

Rebecca changed into a second dress at the reception! I love the traditional jewellery!

These dancers were very cool! They performed a few times throughout the evening.
