The weather this week has been amazing!  This is one of my favourite times to shoot when the leaves are changing and the light in the evening has a rich glow!  It was the perfect time to meet up with Madisen and Cole to do their engagement session.

The next three are definitely my favourites.

Charmaine and Colin were in town from Edmonton for the weekend so we thought that it would be a good time to get their engagement session done. It was a spectacular fall afternoon so we headed up to Nose Hill Park to take advantage of the warm evening light. Looking forward to their wedding in May!

The weather around here was doing its typical fall thing and I’ll be the first to admit that Friday’s rain had me a little nervous for the possibilities on Saturday. Turns out that it was all for naught as we were given a beautiful fall day. Lots to take pictures at this one so I’ll jump straight to the chase.

Which isn’t to say that there wasn’t time for fun. I think this story was about a dare-devil paintball experience.

It was definitely… erm… enthusiastic? Hey, why not, you only get to do this once right!?

The reception was hosted by the wonderful staff over at Hotel Arts.

Josh’s brother brought the house down with his speech. Seriously funny stuff.

I love crazy connections.  Dalene and Joe gave us a call about a month ago and wanted to do some pictures for their first anniversary.  Turns out they know Mike & Becky, a wedding we did back in March.  As we talked with them further we found out they lived in the same building as Kevan (though on a different floor!).

Dalene and Joe were awesome!  Super nice and willing to do anything.  It rained just before we met up with them and it was FREEZING outside.  Kevan and I were walking around in our fleeces & shells and they were strolling around in short sleeves and a sport coat!  It made me cold just looking at them but they insisted they were fine, though at the end of the evening Dalene admitted she was getting a little cold and would probably get sick from walking around without a jacket!

Saturday we had the privilege of being part of Shawna and Nate’s wedding day.  The weather was great for the mid-afternoon ceremony but rain didn’t quite hold off for us later in the afternoon.  Despite this fact, there was lots of laughter all day long and I don’t think anything could have brought down their moods!

Nate’s group of friends had a bet going which involved them dropping a few pounds.  Here he is graciously collecting his winnings from one of his buddies!

The ceremony was held in Inverness Square…you can see the clouds starting to build a little!

Shawna was absolutely radiant and Nate couldn’t keep his eyes off her as her parents walked her down the aisle.

We did a few shots with the wedding party down at Sikome Lake in Fish Creek Park.

The girls were hot!  They had been watching America’s Next Top Model to get their posing just right.

Nate had been practicing his posing too. 

We let the wedding party head off to decorate the reception and did a few more pictures of just the two of them…

We left for Heritage Park where the reception was being held and on our way over the heavens opened up.  Thankfully our friend Dave at the park let us in to one of the buildings for a few shots before venturing outside when the rain let up a little.

Kevan and I constantly joke about sharing a brain.  These next two shots were taken at the same moment and validates the statement that much more…

Nate works for the railroad here in Calgary so we did a few pictures with the train.  We’re not sure if we were supposed to be on it but it provided a little protection from the rain and a nice dry place to warm up a little!

A couple of Shawna’s friends gave a very heartfelt toast to the bride and brought up the biggest martini glasses I’ve ever seen!

The evening was filled with lots of laughter!
