It’s great when we have the opportunity to try our hand at some different types of photography. In portrait photography I love the fast-paced action and having to be quick on your feet. In contrast, doing commercial photography and focusing in on details slows things down and you need to be a bit more meticulous. It actually plays quite well to my obsessive-compulsive side!
Randy and Angelika run the Fernie Tea and Coffee House and we asked them if they’d be OK with us coming in early one morning to do a few shots. They’re both about the nicest people you’ve ever met and were more than willing to let us do some pictures, though I’m not sure they were quite prepared for our elaborate lighting!
Here’s a few of my favourites.

Randy and Angelika taking a quick break in the morning to enjoy a coffee.
The beginnings of a traditional Japanese Matcha. It’s made from a very fine powder and, after mixed, the end result looked like it was radioactive! It tasted delicious!

If you’re thirsty for a warm beverage here in Fernie, I strongly recommend paying them a visit! You can find them at 2nd Ave & 5th St.
