Karyn and I went to Abbotsford for Christmas and we decided to take Highway 3 through southern BC instead of either going north to Highway 1 or south through the US. The drive was long (12 hours door to door!) and frustrating because there were so many things to take pictures of where it was too unsafe to stop at because of the conditions! Aside from that, it definitely gets on the top five list of best drives I’ve ever done.
These first two shots I made Karyn drop me off on a bridge just outside of Creston and drive off to a safer place to pull over. When I was done I flagged her down.

Just outside of Osoyoos, BC Karyn saw this out her window. We made it a priority to find a spot to pull over.
The drive back to Fernie was pretty much the same as the drive there; frustratingly beautiful. This is Christina Lake with some beautiful afternoon light.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for their favourite shot and leave comments. We were overwhelmed by the response to the contest and were surprised by the competitiveness! We heard about Facebook groups starting and mass emails from those involved in the contest trying to spread the word! When the voting closed last night there were 775 cast!
As voted by you, the winning image from 2008 is…

Congratulations to Chelsea and David!
