I always find it interesting to see some of the subtle differences between what we do here in Canada compared to what they do south of the border. Fernie is about a 75km drive to the US and yet I seem to forget that there’s another country so close! One of the differences we were able to experience this fall was the concept of “senior portraits.” It’s probably the opposite of what you think! It’s a session with someone who’s about to graduate from high school and the images are meant to try to capture who they are at that point in their lives. It’s such a great idea and I hope it catches on here!
Marni came all the way from Eureka for her senior portraits. She was awesome and had no qualms about wading through the brush, climbing up on big rocks, or hiking down to the river in her dress shoes. At one point during the session I jokingly told her I wanted a shot of her wading in the river (the water is pretty cold this time of year!) and she was ready to take her shoes & socks off and jump right in. I guess some people just take me too seriously! Anyway, thanks for coming all the way to Fernie Marni! A few of our favourites from your session are below!
