Wow, what a crazy summer it has been! Hard to believe that this was our last wedding of the season – the summer went by in an absolute blur! Hanging out with Christine and Bryce and their family and friends for a day was a perfect way to finish off the season. I was going to say summer there, but Saturday really felt like anything but… The bridesmaids giving the official stamp of approval during Christine’s hair appointment. Out of the limo and into the church! Bryce’s mom during the ceremony. I really like how this portrait of Christine turned out. These guys met at this golf course when they were both working here back in the day. They wanted to have some pictures done here and were originally worried about staying out of golfer’s way while they went out on the course. Funny enough, but there were no golfers present on Saturday. The lovely ladies! As a side note, all of the floral creations that you see in this post were done by Bryce’s sister Stephanie who owns Stems Floral Gallery in Red Deer. The Capri Hotel looked amazing!

After a solid month of driving (Over 4,000 kms for weddings alone in the month of September) it was really nice to shoot in our own backyard this past weekend. A beautiful day for Jenn and Mick, and as an added bonus both the rain and snow held off for the entire day, which is not something I would have been willing to put money on the day before. Make sure that you check out the slideshow at the bottom! This shot makes me laugh. The morning was so relaxed, I even had a chance to take the girls out for a couple of photos before the ceremony! When we were up in Edmonton this past weekend, we had a chance to do a family session with these crazy folks. Ronaye is a very talented photographer in her own right (Vivid Images out of Edmonton), which is how we connected in the first place. It’s always a little bit interesting shooting for another photographer and I will be honest when I say that I was a little bit nervous heading in. After all; she knows all the tricks! Once we actually met up with them though, we very quickly forgot about the nerves and had a blast working with them. Ronaye took us one of her secret locations which was absolutely perfect! Hard to beat late evening light in an abandoned farm-yard!

These two had Duane and I laughing all day long. Other than the crazy wind storm that cut the portrait session short, this was a great day and celebration. Some details: Not too often that the groom is with the bride in the morning at the hair appointment. Richard was quickly put to work with a very important task. This maneuver almost cost him his life when Carling found out… Let’s just say that Richard’s trusty iphone let him down when it came to learning how fold a pocket square. They were married on the grounds of the legislature. The light was awesome! Thanks again guys! Have fun on your Mediterranean cruise!

Classic fall weather in the mountains on Saturday. While we were setting up for the family pictures after the ceremony I turned to Duane and said, “man, it feels like mid-July out here!” Of course, twenty-five minutes later it was raining. Thankfully, it just blew on through so we didn’t have to contend with the wet for too long. All in all, an awesome day in one of the most amazing locations in Canada. Thanks for allowing us a part in it all! The ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful Juniper Hotel. Devin and the rest of his guys were setting up for the ceremony right below Dani’s room in the morning. This is a shot of Dani taking a peek of Devin and the progress. One last check over the dress before putting it on. My favourite. I love it when the grandparents dance. I think they were busting a move to ‘Mambo #5′ here.
